Globe Trotters
Last night my purrrrific girlfriends and I wore our animal print PJs and sipped plenty o’ prosecco as we pre-gamed for our favorite awards show of the season.
And the show did not disappoint, darlings! From hilarious Tina & Amy and adorable Ben & Jen ~ to Bill’s charisma and George’s magnetism ~ the A-List brought their A-game to the Golden Globes.
I thought the biggest style statement of the evening was just enjoy yourself! Clearly, Amy had the time of her life…
And the fashion wasn’t bad either! Here’s a quick re-cap.
Kate Hudson ~ quelle bombshell! One of my top picks and mesmerizing in McQueen, but I wish she went with a sleek high ponytail instead.
Julianne Moore in Tom Ford ~ always a class act. Love the sleek, chic lines in of-the-moment black & white, the pretty tie in the back, and her shimmery sparklers are fabulous.
Kerry Washington ~ molto caldo in Miu Miu! Just wish the dress lining was longer to better enhance the beautifully detailed, shimmery overlay. On the fence re: her bangs & highlights.
Naomi Watts ~ beautiful in bordeaux, fits-like-a-glove Zac Posen.
Emily Blunt ~ lovely in lacy gold Michael Kors & manages to make cut-outs classy. The chignon & berry baubles are the cherry on top.
Jen Garner sparkles in Vivienne Westwood ~ especially in the glow of her smitten spouse. My vote for cutest couple.
Michelle Dockery ~ ever the Lady in Alexandre Vauthier. Impeccable fit on her regal frame. Her genuine smile throughout the evening was her best accessory.
Jessica Alba in Christian Dior ~ always nails it! She is red carpet perfection. Kudos to Brad G.
Anne Hathaway in Chanel ~ I imagine the detail was even prettier in person. And nobody does a red lip better than Anne H.
Jessica Chastain in Calvin Klein. Love her, love the watery-blue hue ~ but poor fit and confusing hair.
Halle in Versace ~ she’d be gorgeous in a paper bag, but even a paper bag is better than this dress…
Lea Michele in Elie Saab ~ even though she went overboard on the fake-n-bake, I think the dress & hair are pretty.
Amanda Seyfried ~ gorgeous Givenchy gown, which I imagine was even lovelier in person, but her skin and hair are grey against it. A pop of pink or red on her lips would have done wonders!
Taylor Swift ~ in eggplant Donna Karan. Snooze.
J. Lo in Zuhair Murad ~ trying to remember if she packed Caspar’s lunch…
Eva Longoria ~ too much going on in this Pucci concoction for her petite frame. She’s still pretty (despite the poufed-up pompadour up-do that I will never understand).
Lovely Nicole Kidman and son.
Georgie’s Girl ~ sleek black velvet Armani Prive, but the hair is flat.
Helen Mirren is one sizzlin’ senior in Badgley Mischka.
Rachel Weisz ~ I love a Swiss dot and bows but I’m not crazy about the 2-dresses-in-one look of this Louis Vuitton. But The Bonds are gorgeous so I’m giving them a pass.
“Fashion is life-enhancing and I think it’s a lovely, generous thing to do for other people.” ~Vivienne Westwood
