Tent Envy

Since February 11th, I’ve been positively giddy – giddy with anticipation as I check e-mail, Facebook, Twitter and TV for updates on the gorgeous creations being shown at the tents of Bryant Park! I’ve been obsessed. Yesterday marked the last day of one of the most wonderful weeks of the year: New York Fashion Week Fall 2010 .

New York Fashion Week kicks off the global calendar of Fashion Weeks, and is immediately followed by other fabulous Fashion Weeks in London, Milan and Paris. How great is that? Just when you’re feeling sad that one week is over, it’s time for the next stylish city!

I admit I’ve been overwhelmed with jealousy that I wasn’t at Bryant Park, and sadly won’t be in London, Milan or Paris either.  Sigh…that would clearly be my version of kid in a candy store! In the meantime, thank the fashion gods for the Internet. It gives me that almost-front-row feeling.

Here are a few fun highlights to enjoy from the New York Fall 2010 shows:

Alexander Wang – the collection was full of black, grey and what’s sure to be Serena & Blair’s fave new accessory: legwarmers! Think Flashdance but classier.

Carolina Herrera – she gave us just the collection you’d expect from such a classy lady & designer – glamorous, prim and pretty.

Hervé Léger by Max Azria – Hervé Léger has never looked better! Max Azria nailed it with brand new rich & classy updates to the iconic bandage dress.

Donna Karan – Donna doesn’t disappoint with her figure-flattering, fluid designs.

Jill Stuart – sassy and feminine, colorful and pretty. She expertly mixes, matches, layers and drapes her gorgeous pieces together into beautiful designs.

Luca Luca – creative director Raul Melgoza’s gold, navy, and silver palette is pretty pretty.

Michael Kors – the King of American Sportswear – luxe, rich, classy, modern. I’m loving the slouchy, cozy, cashmere look in the center.

Nanette Lepore – I adore Lepore! The rich hues and antique teal blue knit blazer are just the icing on the cupcake of her gorgeous collection.

Tory Burch – the popular designer and creator of coveted accessories such as the Reva ballerina flat (named after her mother),  gold logo bags and clutches, to name a few – sent a beautifully modern collection down the catwalk. I love all of these looks!

Rodarte – the Mulleavy sisters sent out a dreamy collection of billowy dresses in creme and soft florals. My favorite is the swiss dot dress on the right! I hope we’ll be seeing more swiss dot designs for spring, too.

One last reason to be jealous:  Victoria Beckham.  I’m not even talking about her smokin’ hot hubby or cute kids – it’s the simple fact that she is utterly adorable and was fresh off her fall collection’s debut when this pic was snapped. Lovin’ her rockstar in New York look. It’s major.
