Thanks to Eric in Richmond for suggesting this fashion offense as a topic!
She gets points for confidence…

Where do you draw the line between an article of clothing often associated with young children and one that has become the season’s hottest trend?
I’m referring to the “romper” – and these are tricky waters to tread. One baby step in the wrong direction and you could look like an overgrown toddler. However, with a keen eye you can snag yourself a comfy and chic alternative to the sundress or shorts & tank combo.
My instincts initially resisted the fad but then I became intrigued enough to give it a try. I spotted an adorable black halter version by BCBG recently – I tried it on, tested it out on the town the other night, and I’m now a fan.
Look for soft, fluid knits, solid colors or subtle prints, and minimal embellishment. A drawstring waist is a fresh update to belts. Stear clear of tight, excessively faded fabric, especially denim, and too many buttons or other adornments – anything that could cheapen the look or make it too childish.
Keep in mind, most rompers are designed to be stepped into, so whenever you need to take it off (say, for instance, every time you need to use the ladies room…) you will need to drop it down from the shoulders.
A minor inconvenience for fashionistas.
